Christmas market to open on Folkestone Harbour Arm

A festive market is coming to Folkestone Harbour Arm for the first time this Christmas.
The team behind the tourist spot have released a drawing showing what the purpose built market could look like, with wooden huts surrounded by decorated trees and fairy lights.
The market will begin on Saturday, November 27 and run every weekend in the run up to Christmas, as well as on December 23 and 24.
A spokesman for the Arm said: "Our vision is to create a new Festive Destination for Kent, including a programme of Christmas events including bands, choirs and films.
"Traders in the Goods Yard will also be offering the very best of their food and drink offers with a festive twist.
"This will be a major addition to Folkestone Harbour Arm's seasonal offering and we can't wait to get started."
The Folkestone Harbour Arm, and adjoining Harbour Station and viaduct, have been through many renovations over the last few years, with owner Folkestone Harbour and Seafront Development Company spending millions of pounds on the project.
As well as being a popular walkway, it is home to the Goods Yard, which includes food and drink traders, an outdoor cinema, vintage market and a mini golf course.
The Lighthouse Champagne Bar sits at the end of the Arm, and the Pilot bar and Little Rock seafood restaurant are located next to it.
Those interested in taking part in the Festive Marketplace are now invited to apply for a spot.
Bosses say they want to see a "range of makers that create and sell products not seen on the High Street".
This includes fashion, interior products, handmade jewellery, ceramics, crafts and keep sakes, beauty products and illustrative or digitally produced items.
