A huge 87 metre long transformer struck a motorway bridge as it made its way through Kent at just 12mph.

The load, which is an electricity transformer, left the Port of Dover at 11pm last night, on its way to a substation in Sellindge.

It was said to be the size of a one-bedroomed house and nearly six metres wide.
