Eurotunnel services are delayed for a third day running as train air conditioning units continue to struggle.

Passengers attempting to reach the continent are being warned that departures are around three hours after booked times.

Earlier in the day some vehicles faced waits of up to five hours.

Check-in times are currently around an hour and a half.

Le Shuttle says the hold-ups are due to 'prolonged and unprecedented temperatures' affecting the air conditioning on shuttles.

Ticket for travel today are not being sold.

The firm is asking passengers to check-in no earlier than two hours and no later than 45 minutes before departure, saying: "Due to the high level of traffic booked, we are currently unable to check-in any customers arriving more than two hours before their booked crossing time.

"We strongly recommend that you stock up with water and take a comfort break prior to arriving at our Folkestone Terminal."

The Port of Dover is also warning of queues on approach roads and at border control.

The traffic is having a knock-on effect on bus services, with Stagecoach warning that all services through Dover are severely delayed.

Passengers are advised to allow plenty of time for travel.
