Long-awaited plans have been lodged to demolish a neglected pub and replace it with 13 homes.

The Cherry Pickers in Ashley Avenue, Cheriton, could be replaced with a large pool of houses, nine of which will have four bedrooms.

The planning application was lodged to Shepway District Council and was made public on Tuesday.

The derelict pub, which has been empty for more than two years, was wrecked by fire in May 2014 and the site has remained untouched ever since.

The plans also include one two-bedroom house and three one-bedroom apartments.
The pub was granted approval to be demolished in March 2015.

The planning and access statement allows for two parking spaces per house and one per apartment.

A decision is set to be made by Monday, January 2.
