Fireball boy: 2 released on police bail

TWO 14-year-old boys arrested after a blaze which left another teenager critically ill with 90 per cent burns have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The boys were held on suspicion of arson and causing grievous bodily harm after a blaze at Kent Auto Panels on the Ross Way industrial estate in Folkestone on Sunday.

The injured youngster is the burns unit at Queen Victoria Hospital at East Grinstead in West Sussex. He was originally taken to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital by the Kent Air Ambulance.

Kent Police and fire investigators from Kent Fire and Rescue Service are looking into what caused the blaze. Tyres were found burning after an explosion at the rear of the premises.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to contact Det Sgt Mark Button at South East Kent Police on 01303 850055.
