Renewed appeal following assault and robbery on elderly man at Hawkinge home

Officers investigating a robbery and assault on an elderly man at his home in Hawkinge are renewing their appeal for witnesses.

The man was attacked at his home in Fern Field at around 8.50pm on Sunday August 25.

He spotted a man peering through a window.

But when the victim opened the door he was punched several times in the face.

The suspect is described as a well built white male in his late teens or early 20s and about 5ft 10in tall wearing a light blue zipped hooded top with the hood up and dark grey tracksuit bottoms.

The intruder said he needed £300 and stole cash as well as a gold coin and gold skeleton watch (pictured).

He was last spotted running down an alleyway towards Millfield.
