Google will be in Kent today to give advice to businesses and residents about how to boost business.
The internet giant is offering free digital training as part of its latest stop on its coastal towns tour.
They are offering workshops for people to improve their digital skills at the pop-up session Digital Garage in Folkestone.
The event is taking place until 4.30pm at The Quarterhouse in Tontine Street.
It will see people in the tourism and hospitality industry given advice on the digital tools needed to attract more visitors.
It is a partnership between Google, Visit England, The British Hospitality Association, The National Coastal Tourism Academy and UKinbound in a bid to help small businesses.
The scheme is aiming to increase awareness and make sure business have the right skills to promote themselves and improve the tourism appeal of the British coast.
The Digital Garage event sees Google experts provide one-to-one free mentoring and workshops to business - ranging from restaurants, entertainment venues and hotels - or individuals interested in learning and developing digital skills.
Folkestone and Hythe MP Damian Collins is visiting the workshop this morning.
He said: "The government’s Coastal Communities Fund is making important strides in this area, but I also welcome the important work of Google’s Digital Garage to address the digital skills shortfall.
"These skills can act a growth engine for small businesses as well as making individuals more attractive to new employers.
"I really look forward to Google’s coastal programme arriving in Folkestone on Friday and urge anyone who thinks they could benefit to come along to the free training."
Ronan Harris, managing director for Google UK and Ireland, said: “The fast moving digital world is having an increasing impact on our everyday lives.
"As a result, Google’s Digital Garage mission is to provide useful digital training as well as confidence online for those who may have at first felt quite lost within this new digital age.
"We want to ensure that Folkestone is equipped to succeed in the future by harnessing the power of online tools."
