Folkestone is one of the top emerging holiday hotspots within an hour from London, according to data from a travel website.
Holidaylettings.co.uk has said that Folkestone has seen a “huge spike” in demand with holiday makers.
It has seen a 112.50% rise in enquires compared to last year.
It has been ranked second among 10 towns that are within an hour from London, beating its Kent competitors Maidstone, Whitstable and Faversham.
Jack Johnson, spokesman for Holiday Lettings, owned by TripAdvisor, said: “These new stats prove that Folkestone is increasingly in demand with travellers in and around London.
“It’s great to see some new tourism hotspots like Folkestone emerge in recent years, alongside old favourites like Whitstable.”
In Folkestone, attractions such as the Harbour Arm have enticed people to the town.
The picturesque setting, which looks back across the harbour and the Sunny Sands, opened late last summer.
