A FIRE has completely destroyed three homes and damaged two others in Folkestone. The blaze started at 11.30am this morning in a terrace house in St Michael's Street.
It quickly spread to the neighbouring houses, which were well alight before the fire brigade arrived. Nobody was injured, although homes on the street had to be evacuated.
Eight pumps attended from Folkestone, Ashford, Canterbury, Hythe and Whitfield.
Breathing apparatus crews entered the buildings to bring the flames under control and prevent the fire from spreading. Turntable ladders were used to fight the fire from above.
Extensive damage was done to all three houses. Two other homes suffered heat and smoke damage.
The fire was brought under control at around 1.30pm. The cause of the fire is not yet known. Firefighters are still at the scene.
