A grandmother from Folkestone has told of her ordeal when two thieves burst into her home threatening her at knifepoint.

Joanne Flisher, 52, was at home alone on a Wednesday afternoon on January 30 when there was a knock on the door at around 2pm.

Mrs Flisher, a mother to two daughters and grandmother-of-two, said when she answered the door, the men barged in brandishing 10-inch kitchen knives.

“One of them grabbed me by the hair and pulled me down. While the door was open I tried to scream for help."

But while they were rummaging through her jewellery she managed to slip away and out of the house and flagged a motorist down outside her house.
