Man arrested for possessing offensive weapon after disturbance in Pannell Drive, Hawkinge

A man was arrested in a residential area of Hawkinge last night on suspicion of possessing a weapon.

Officers then arrested a 50-year-old man after being called to Pannell Drive at 9.06pm.

Witnesses reported seeing a number of police cars in the road and dogs.

Police were called to Pannell Drive, Hawkinge

A spokesman today confirmed officers were called following a report of concern for the welfare of a man.

They added: "A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. He remains in custody."
