Folkestone police appealing after man was assaulted in Tontine Street

A man was left with injuries to his face after an assault in the middle of the street.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident in Folkestone early on Saturday morning.

It was reported the victim was attacked by another man in Tontine Street at around 2.25am.

He needed hospital treatment after suffering with facial injuries including a cut to his forehead.

The suspect has been described as a white man aged between 18 and 20 and about 5ft 10ins tall with short dark hair and a slim build.

He was reportedly in the area at the time wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and trainers.
