Man appears in court after two hurt, including police officer, in Folkestone

A man has appeared in court charged with hurting two people – including a police officer.
Officers were initially called to reports someone had been assaulted on steps in Bradstone Avenue, in Folkestone, at around 8.45pm last Friday (May 5).
Alongside paramedics, police rushed to the scene where they discovered a man had been stabbed in the leg.
The victim was taken into the care of the ambulance crew and transported to hospital with injuries not described as life-threatening.
A suspect was quickly identified and arrested elsewhere in the town.
During the arrest, a police officer suffered an injury to his arm.
Following inquiries, Grant Ray has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The 30-year-old, of Watkin Road, Folkestone, is also charged with assaulting an emergency worker.
He appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Monday (May 8) and was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, June 5.
The victim has since been discharged from hospital.
