Kent Police and Littlestone RNLI lifeboat crew called over concerns for man in Folkestone harbour

Police and lifeboat crews were called over concerns for a man in Folkestone harbour.

Officers were called to the harbour after becoming concerned for the man's welfare.

A spokesman from the Littlestone lifeboat station said they were called by police to a "gentleman in a distressed state" in the harbour.

But they were stood down by Dover Coastguard just before they entered the harbour following "a positive outcome".

A police spokesman said the man was detained under the mental health act.
