Man dies after 'suspected fall' from Foord Road viaduct in Folkestone

A man has died after a suspected fall from a viaduct in Folkestone.

Police were called to Foord Road South in the town at 11.50pm last night.

Officers found a man in his 50s lying in the road, Kent Police confirmed this evening.

Flowers have been left at the scene by the viaduct in Foord Road, Folkestone

Witness reports suggest the man fell from the viaduct.

Flowers have been left at the foot of the viaduct opposite the Sunflower House community centre.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at just after 11.50pm on Monday, May 11 to a report of concern for welfare for a man in Foord Road South, Folkestone.

"A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be duly prepared for the coroner."
