A cyclist has been killed in a crash in Folkestone today.
Emergency crews battled in vain to save the man at the roadside on Shorncliffe Road.
Paramedics from two ambulances, two ambulance cars and an air ambulance car helped the man, believed to be in his 50s.
But he was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision involving a bike and a car just after noon.
The driver of a silver Vauxhall Zafira, involved in the crash, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital for suspected minor injuries.
An ambulance spokesman said: "Sadly, we were unable to resuscitate him and he was pronounced dead at the scene."
Kent County Council highways reopened the road, near Folkestone West station, at 4.20pm.
Investigations by officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are ongoing.
They are appealing for anyone with information to call the appeal line on 01622 798538.
