Man flown to London hospital after attack in Folkestone

A man has been seriously injured in a reported attack.

Police are investigating after the victim was flown to hospital following an incident in Folkestone.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing an injured man lying on the ground in New Street this afternoon at around 1.15pm.

One added: "There are two or three riot vans patrolling the ground. It was horrible to see."

Police, paramedics and the air ambulance attended the scene and a man was flown to a London hospital with a head injury.

A police spokesman added: "An investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing."
