Man suffers burns after lighting cigarette inside tent in Selsted

A man suffered serious burns after lighting a cigarette while inside a tent containing a leaking Calor gas bottle.
The victim, in his late 30s, had pitched the tent in Canterbury Road, Selsted, near Folkestone.
The tent went up in flames when he lit the cigarette late last night.
He suffered burns to his head, chest, back, arms and face and is currently being treated in hospital.
The blaze also completely destroyed the tent.
