Police say there are no suspicious circumstances about how a man was left with serious head injuries in a town centre park.
Officers spent most of Monday investigating the scene in Payers Park in Folkestone, where a man was found in the early hours "dazed and confused".
Now, after reviewing CCTV footage in the area, police have concluded his injuries were suffered because of a fall.
The 33-year-old man was rushed to hospital in London where he remains in a serious condition.
He was discovered shortly before 5am on Monday but police have ruled out any third party involvement.
A 26-year-old man from Hythe was initially arrested in connection with the incident.
He is no longer suspected of causing the man's injuries.
But is being investigated on suspicion of possessing a lock knife and theft of a mobile phone.
