Ray Jordan goes to the Swiss Open on a high

Racketlon ace Ray Jordan faces a massive obstacle if he is to progress to the later stages of the Swiss Open this weekend.

The versatile 26-year-old is British number one at the gruelling multi-event sport which pits opponents against each other at table tennis, badminton, squash and tennis.

The Folkestone man - ranked 28th in the world - has been given an encouraging first round draw in Zurich, facing German world number 55 Michael Helsdorfer in the Elite Class A.

The table-tennis specialist should make short work of the veteran German, however victory would book a second round tie with world number five, 6'7" Austrian tennis ace Christoph Krenn who would prove much harder proposition.

Jordan goes into the competition on a high after success at the English Open in London last month where he won the consolation plate in Class A after three consecutive wins after losing in the first round.
