A new Banksy-like art piece has appeared in Folkestone.

Painted on to a free-standing canvas, the painting appeared earlier today outside of New Look at Bouverie Place and shows an elderly woman looking over an empty plinth.

The art has been coned off and and has a sign painted on that reads 'Pre-Brexit price only £300 k' and has been gathering crowds all day.

The piece bears resemblance to the Art Buff piece that was painted during the Folkestone Triennial in 2014.

The original painting received plenty of attention after the piece was torn down from the amusement arcade wall where it was painted and shipped to an art fair in America where it was due to be sold.

However after a long legal battle, the painting was eventually returned to the town.
