A new dive bar serving burgers and beer is preparing to open this week in Folkestone.
Lucky Chip is in Church Street, in the unit formerly occupied by Bacchus bar, which closed last year.
The restaurant will serve burgers, an assortment of sides, such as chips and mac n cheese, plus around 15 different beers and 80 wines.
The interior will resemble an old-style American 'dive bar', with dark furniture and dim lighting.
It is being opened by Ben Denner, who already owns two more Lucky Chips, both in London.
Mr Denner had planned on opening another Lucky Chip in Margate last year, but it didn't take off due to the pandemic.
Originally from Australia, Mr Denner, 40, moved to London in 2002, and then to Folkestone two years ago with his family.
He said: "I really loved Folkestone, liked the location, and decided to move here two years ago.
"I think there is a great group of people in Folkestone.
"While we've been setting up the bar, people have been knocking on the window saying they're excited for us to open.
"The response has given us confidence it will be a success."
As well as the bar and restaurant, Lucky Chip will include a wine shop, where 80 wines will be available, plus a delivery service.
Around five or six new members of staff will be taken on to work in Lucky Chip.
It is planned to open this week and will be open Wednesday through to Sunday initially.
Seating will be available out front, in line with government guidance.
