Pensioner robbed in Folkestone town centre by thief

An elderly pensioner was robbed of her handbag by a callous thief in Folkestone town centre.

The woman in her 80s was attacked by a man in Priory Gardens near the Road of Remembrance.

The incident happened in the communal hallway of a block of flats in the cul-de-sac.

The man then ran off towards the Road of Remembrance.

Officers are now appealing for the public's help to trace the man.

The victim helped officers compile the efit of the man which could help officers with their inquiries.

He is described as being white European, aged between 30 and 40 with fair hair and medium build.

The incident happened shortly after 1.30pm Wednesday, August 24, but details have only just been released.
