Docker Bakery set for return to Folkestone at new store in Park Farm

A popular bakery is set to return to a seaside town, as bosses announce expansion plans.
Docker Bakery, which is known for its artisanal sourdough breads and pastries, will be opening its new shop in Park Farm, Folkestone, in August.
Founded by Wes Burden and Pete Nelson, Docker Bakery first captured the hearts of locals in 2016 when it opened in a shipping container on the Harbour Arm.
But in 2022, it closed because of reduced footfall at its seaside location.
After that, the business moved to West Hythe and last year the pair opened up a new taproom called Docker Bar, in Sandgate.
Now, the co-owners say another move was a “necessity” due to rising demand.
“Folkestone has always been at the heart of Docker,” says Mr Burden.
“We started here, grew here, and now we’re excited to come back to a larger space that allows us to serve our customers better and diversify our offerings.
“Staying in Folkestone means we continue to be a part of this vibrant community, supplying our neighbours with the best local and sustainably sourced products.”
The new hub, located at Park Farm and within walking distance of Folkestone town centre, will open its doors on Thursday, August 15.
Customers can look forward to specialty coffee made using Curve Coffee, a Kent roastery.
Bosses at the bakery say the new shop will enable them to expand capacity and introduce new pastries and breads while increasing both wholesale and retail operations.
