A BOY of 16 suffered a detached retina after being punched in the face in an unprovoked attack.

Police are appealing for help from the public to identify the youth responsible.

The victim was with a group of friends walking along The Leas, Folkestone, at around 9pm on Friday, October 6, when a teenage girl came up to them and accused them of calling her "fat".

Three male youths then appeared on the scene and one of them punched the victim in the face.

The offender is described as white, of stocky build, and aged around 18. He was wearing a grey baseball cap, an ‘ECHO’ brand hooded top and matching grey bottoms with a yellow logo on one of the legs, and a pair of white trainers with Velcro fastening straps.

The girl is described as aged 16 to 17, of medium build with brown shoulder-length hair in a pony tail. She was wearing a light coloured hooded top and tracksuit bottoms.
