The Red Arrows put on a spectacular display over Folkestone today bringing an end to this year's airshow.

Thousands of people flocked to the coast to see the aerial acrobatics and the iconic red, white and blue smoke trails across the sky.

Seven planes flew with world-class precision in the 5pm show before heading towards Dover and Margate.

Other attractions during the day included the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, which opened proceedings shortly after midday.

A flight by Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5 followed at 1pm, before a 2.25pm display of Chinook helicopters.

There was food, arts and craft stalls, live music and a classic car show along The Leas.

The cliff-top promenade offered one of the best vantage points for the show and saw crowds head there to watch the displays.

Earlier in the day, the Dye Team – the RAF Engineers who put the red, white and blue into the Red Arrows – tweeted a montage of photos of them working on the aircraft ahead of their trip to Folkestone.

It showed them hard at work prepping everything so it was good to go.
