Tile Kiln Lane in Cheriton closed after two cars and dustcart crash

A car was left suspended between another vehicle and a dustcart following a crash this morning.

It happened in Tile Kiln Lane, Cheriton, Folkestone , at around 6.30am.

Police, fire crews and ambulance service were all sent to the road, with officers setting up a cordon close to Surrenden Road.

One man was trapped inside one of the vehicles and had to be rescued by firefighters.

Two men were taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

A spokesman for the police said: "Kent Police was contacted at 6.35am following a report of a collision between a car, a bin lorry and a parked vehicle in Tile Kiln Lane, Folkestone.

"Officers attended along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service and two men were taken to hospital."

A spokesman for ambulance said: "At 6.30am we received a report of a crash involving a bin lorry and other vehicles including a car.

"Two ambulances and two cars were sent to the scene, and two patients were taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

"One patient was trapped in the vehicle for a period of time and had to be removed by Kent Fire and Rescue Services."
