Dover Hill crash Folkestone: Road closed after crash leaving oil over the road

A crash in Folkestone has blocked a road because of an oil spillage.

One lane of Dover Hill leading into Folkestone has been shut following a crash between two vehicles.

Police are at the scene between Fleming Way and Smallpox Hill after the smash shortly before 10am.

Two people have been taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, a spokesman for Secamb [South East Coast Ambulance] said.

Paramedics from two ambulances, two cars from the Hazardous Area Response Team and another ambulance car attended the scene.

A woman in her 40s was suffering from and pelvic and abdominal pain but was fully conscious.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to Dover Hill, Folkestone at 9.47am following reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision."

Officers closed the road while highways officers were called to clear debris and clean up an oil spillage.

Motorists had earlier been warned to approach with caution and allow extra time.

The road reopened at 1pm.
