Girl hit by car in Tram Road, Folkestone, remains in London hospital after suffering life-changing injuries

A schoolgirl has suffered life-changing injuries and remains in hospital in a serious condition after she was hit by a car.

Police were called to Tram Road in Folkestone on Wednesday, January 18, following reports of a collision involving a grey Peugeot car and a pedestrian by a zebra crossing.

Tram Road was closed as a result of the accident

Emergency services were called just before 4pm along with the air ambulance.

The road was closed while the girl, who is of secondary school age, was treated at the scene before being taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

She has since been taken to a London hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

The Peugeot was pictured at the time with damage to the front passenger side.

An appeal has now been launched and officers investigating the crash are appealing for any witnesses yet to speak to police to come forward.

Police, ambulance crews and the air ambulance all attended
