A teenager was rescued from the mud at Folkestone today.

The fire service, ambulance and the coastguard were called to the Harbour Arm at 11.20am after the young boy became trapped in the mud.

Crews used mud paths to get to the teenager, who was then passed to paramedics.

Witnesses say it looked like the boy's shoes became lost in the mud.

Fire crews have now issued a warning for people to be cautious when walking in muddy areas, as it can be often deeper than it looks.

The incident lasted an hour.
