A train has struck a shopping trolley causing delays to services this afternoon.

Commuters are warned of disruption after the Southeastern service struck the object near Folkestone West station.

The power was switched off while the trolley was removed from the line just after 4pm.

But it has since been restored and Southeastern says it expects services to return to normal shortly.

It is not the first time the problem has been seen in the area.

Earlier this year trains were delayed for around two hours after yobs hurled a trolley on to the tracks from the Tolsford Close bridge.
