Police called to reports of metal theft Folkestone West railway station

Two men have been arrested and a truck taped off by police following reports of metal theft on the railway.

Officers arrived at Folkestone West station after an eyewitness called shortly before 9.30am today.

Two men have been arrested and an investigation into the incident has been launched.

The incident did not impact train services running in the area.

A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "We were called to Folkestone West station at 9.26am today following reports of metal theft on the railway.

"Officers attended and two men, aged 34 and 35, were arrested in connection.

"They have been taken to police custody and enquiries into this incident are ongoing."
