Woman assaulted outside cafe in Folkestone

An appeal has been launched to find witnesses after a woman was reportedly assaulted.

Police have already arrested a man in connection with the alleged attack after "an altercation" outside a cafe in Folkestone.

The victim, a 45-year-old woman, is said to have been attacked outside the Blitz Cafe in Bouverie Road West at around 4.40pm yesterday.

A 58-year-old man has been arrested and released on bail in connection with the incident.

Officers are keen to find a man who helped out the victim after the alleged assault.

Investigating officer PC Wendy Heisley said: "We would like to hear from a man who is an important witness to this incident.

"We understand he had just left the barbers after having his hair cut before helping the victim who was involved with an altercation outside the Blitz Café."
