Man is charged following disturbance in Brockman Road, Folkestone

A man has been taken into custody after a woman and four police officers were hurt during a disturbance in Folkestone.

Police were called to a house in Brockman Road at 3.30pm on Monday and discovered a woman with facial injuries, which required hospital treatment.

But while attending the address, four officers were assaulted.

On Wednesday, Stuart Goodwin, 33, of Deacon Drive, Basildon, was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, four counts of assaulting an emergency worker, causing unnecessary suffering or injury to a person under 16 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Goodwin appeared at virtual court on the same day and was remanded in custody.

He will next appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, June 22.
