Appeal after naked man is pulled from sea

KENT Police are appealing for help from the public to identify a man who was rescued from the sea off Folkestone.

The man, who was naked and suffering from hypothermia, was rescued by a lifeboat crew after being spotted by a member of the public in the sea on Tuesday near the Lower Leas.

He was taken to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital where his condition is described as potentially life-threatening.

The man is in his 50s and his first name could be Christian. Police believe he may have been dropped off at the beach by taxi at around 5am this morning.

Police are not treating the incident as suspicious but are keen to establish the man’s identity. Anyone with information is asked to contact Folkestone Police on 01303 850055.
