Firearms officers were deployed following reports a man was seen with a gun.

Armed police arrived in Grace Hill in Folkestone last night and carried out a search of the area.

But no suspect was found.

Now a review into CCTV of the area will take place to establish exactly what happened.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Police were called to Grace Hill, Folkestone at 5.55pm yesterday following a report that a man had been seen with what is thought to have been a gun.

"Firearms officers attended the location and carried out a search.

"No suspect was located.

"Officers will review CCTV and carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances around the incident."
