Armed police were called to a busy high street following reports a man had been seen with a weapon.
Officers attended Cheriton High Street, Folkestone at about 6.30pm last night (June 12).
It came after a man was reportedly seen placing a suspected weapon in the boot of his car.
Footage shows at least three officers and two police cars parked on the stretch near the junction with Risborough Lane and Stanley Road.
A man can then be seen being led to the rear of a vehicle outside the road's Co-Op supermarket.
A spokesman for the force said: “Kent Police was called to a report a man had been seen to place a possible weapon in the boot of his car.
"Armed patrols attended and identified the person and vehicle in question.
"No weapon was located and officers believe the report to have been a false alarm.”
Police say no arrests were made following the incident.
