A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a number of cash machines in Folkestone were found alight.
Fire crews confirmed they dealt with fires at ATMs in Sandgate Road and Bouverie Place.
A spokesman said: "There are no reports of any injuries, but it is thought the cause was malicious and details have been passed to the police."
A police spokesman said: "Police were called at 7.03pm on Monday May 21 to reports that two cash machines were set alight in Sandgate Road and Bouverie Road, Folkestone.
"Officers attended the scene and provided assistance to Kent Fire and Rescue.
"A 55-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of arson.
"The man remains in custody."
It is understood cash machines belonging to Santander and the Halifax have been affected.
Firefighters were called at around 6.55pm and remained at the scenes until just before 7.30pm.
