It was alleged that the man threatened people who were known to him following an altercation earlier that evening, before leaving the scene.

A suspect was arrested nearby a short while later, and an axe and cannabis were recovered.

On Sunday, James Brown of Warren Close was charged with possession of a blade or sharply pointed article, possession of a class B drug and a public order offence.

He appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was bailed to appear before Canterbury Crown Court at a later date.
