AN INVESTIGATION is under way after fire destroyed a cookhouse at a barracks in Folkestone.
The blaze, at the Napier camp, broke out at about at 5.20pm on Tuesday. More than 30 cadets visiting the complex from Brighton were evacuated.
The cook managed to escape from the kitchen but needed treatment for the effects of smoke inhalation.
Fire crews from Folkestone, Hythe, Aldington, Dover and Canterbury were all involved in fighting the blaze. They were at the scene until 8.30pm.
