Bubble tea and bao buns are now on offer at a popular Kent tourist spot.
Baoboba is the sixth new venture to open at Folkestone Harbour Arm this year alone.
Co-owners Jack Sherrin and Andrew Young said they wanted to launch in the seaside town after being “blown away by the harbour”.
“I think the town is going places, and we both fell in love with the harbour and the location,” Mr Sherrin said.
“There is so much good stuff happening and for us, it was not Folkestone or somewhere else, it was Folkestone or nowhere. It was exactly where we want to be and we are really happy.
“When we got the email confirming we had got a spot there, I could not stop smiling.”
Mr Sherrin, who used to work at a fish tackle business, says he and Andrew have worked together previously and were keen to think of a new venture to fill a gap at the harbour.
“I moved to Folkestone about a year and a half ago and when we first came down to the harbour and we were just blown away by it,” he said.
“We wanted to be a part of it and thought we had to do something.”
The pair, who have both previously worked in the hospitality sector, combined their passions to come up with Baoboba.
“I have always loved bubble tea and baos and Andrew loves cooking so we found something which fit on the arm,” the 30-year-old said.
“All the sauces are made in-house, Andrew made them and we are very proud of them.
“We try to source as much as we can locally, but with bubble tea ingredients we cannot get those locally.
“People can also customise their bubble teas to their liking.”
Mr Sherrin added the community at Folkestone Harbour Arm is very supportive, and they are grateful to artist Aron from Dickie Smiles, for creating their logo.
Baoboba is currently open Monday to Saturday from 11am until 8pm and Sundays until 6pm.
Other restaurants to open at the arm this year include Portenio, Le Coq, Sail Box, Brewing Brothers and The Saffa Bru.
The attraction, which welcomes two million people a year, is also a home a harbour screen, mini golf, market and bars and restaurants.
