Caretaker convicted over letter bombs

A PRIMARY school caretaker has been convicted over a nationwide letter bomb campaign which injured eight people.

Miles Cooper, from Cambridge, admitted sending the devices to numerous addresses - including one in Folkestone - but had denied trying to injure anyone.

A jury at Oxford Crown Court heard how he designed a more powerful device using a nail varnish bottle when his first bombs failed to generate publicity.

He is due to be sentenced tomorrow.
