A predatory paedophile who sexually abused two children has been jailed for 20 years for his monstrous crimes.
Robert Nelson Neill, of Castle Hill Avenue in Folkestone, was found guilty of a string of offences which included raping a child under the age of 13.
The 62-year-old was also convicted of five counts of sexual assault, one count of inciting sexual activity with a child, four counts of making indecent images, and one count of taking an indecent image.
He appeared at Canterbury Crown Court where he pleaded not guilty to all the charges, which were committed between January 2011 and October 2014.
Judge Heather Norton jailed him for 20 years and added an extra four years to his sentence, which he will serve on licence.
Neill has been put on the Sex Offenders' Register and given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order indefinitely, and will be barred from working or volunteering with children.
The case was investigated by Detective Constable Rebecca Thomas. Speaking after the case she said: "Neill has abused two young children in a shocking and predatory way.
"They have shown a tremendous amount of courage and bravery to speak out against this man.
"I welcome the sentence Neill has received and I hope this serves as a message to victims that we take all reports of sexual abuse seriously, and we will be relentless in bringing offenders to justice for them."
