A driver was pulled over by police after travelling the wrong way down the M20.

Police were called to the coastbound carriageway near Folkestone following reports earlier today.

Amazingly, the car managed to avoid any collision during the bizarre incident.

When patrol cars attended at around 10.25am, the car had already turned around.

Officers did manage to track down the vehicle however, and escorted it to a nearby service station "in order to ensure the welfare of the driver".

A report will now be submitted to the DVLA in order for the driver’s licence to be assessed.
