M20 coastbound between Junction 12 and Junction 13 re-opens following police incident

A motorway has reopened after police were called following concerns for a person’s welfare.

The M20 was closed coastbound just before Junction 13 at Folkestone this evening, with drivers behind held on the carriageway.

There was also congestion at Junction 12.

The road has since re-opened.

A spokesman for police said: “Kent Police was called at 6.19pm to a report of concern for a person near to junction 13 of the M20 motorway at Folkestone.

“Patrols attended and the road was closed while officers responded to the incident.

“The person was passed into the care of medical professionals and the road was re-opened shortly before 7.30pm.”
