Drugs raid at former club

More than 1,400 cannabis plants are believed to have been found in a drugs raid yesterday.

The discovery was made by police at the former Rendezvous snooker club in Tontine Street, Folkestone, and two people have been arrested.

South Kent Police spokesman Jon Green said: “Police in South Kent have closed down another suspected cannabis factory.

“More than 1,400 cannabis plants and cultivation equipment have allegedly been discovered in the Rendezvous.”

Two men believed to be of Chinese nationality were arrested after police swooped on the premises yesterday morning.

Police says that Chuan Chen, 24, and Zhven Zhou,28, have both been charged with being concerned in the production of a Class B controlled drug and abstracting electricity.

Both were remanded in custody.
