An elderly man suffered from the effects of smoke in a kitchen fire.

It happened in a Christmas Day cooking accident at Warren Close, Folkestone.

Firefighters were called out at 11.45am and quickly put the small fire on the cooker out.

They also cleared the property of smoke with a pressure ventilator fan.

The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics.
