Two pedestrians have been hit by a car on a main road near a school and busy supermarket.
Emergency services are at the scene near the Harvey Grammar School and Morrisons in Folkestone.
Police and ambulance vehicles have been seen on Cheriton Road and both injured women were taken to hospital.
The road has been closed between the Three Hills Sports Park and the secondary school outside the Cheriton Road cemetery this afternoon.
The pedestrians, both women, have been taken to hospital in Ashford after being injured in the incident, which took place at 2.12pm.
Four police cars are at the scene and officers have cordoned off the street in both directions.
A witness has reported seeing a blue BMW with part of its licence plate was broken near the Bar Invicta.
A police spokeswoman said: "Kent Police was called at 2.12pm to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and two pedestrians.
"Officers are attending the scene in Cheriton Road, Folkestone along with colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
"Two women sustained injuries and are being taken to a local hospital. The road is currently closed while recovery work is ongoing."
