Fire flattened a boating hut last night.
The blaze burned the 10 by 3 metre building to the ground.
It happened at the Nickolls Quarry at Dymchurch Road, Hythe, at 9 o'clock.
Three fire engines, from Dymchurch, Hythe and Ashford ,were called out and were all at the scene for three hours.
Ashford firefighter Steve Colson said: “The building was totally destroyed along with its contents such as tools and equipment.”
Dymchurch and Hythe crews remained at the scene for a fourth hour for damping down.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Nickolls Quarry has a lake used for leisure and also training for groups such as scouts and sea cadets.
