Firefighters from two engines tackled a blaze at a house in Sutton Close, Folkestone.
Crews were called at 10.20am this morning (Wednesday) as flames ripped through the kitchen.
Two engines attended the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet to quell the fire and stood down at 10.45am.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said around 70% of the room had been destroyed.
